In order to promote educational inclusion, since 2001 the federal program ends university students in private higher education institutions, with a positive evaluation in the National Higher Education Assessment System (Sinaes). This year, the MEC offers 112,168 vacant places for Fies, of which 67.301 in the first half and 44,867 in the second half of the year.
Candidates in obtaining students’ financing must meet the following requirements:
- They participated in the national high school exam (Enem), from the 2010 edition;
- they gained the arithmetic average of the notes, in the five exams of the exam, equal to or greater than 450 points and the proof of writing do not have zero;
- do not participate in that exam as a coach;
- Have a gross income of the monthly family per person up to three minimum wages (R $ 4.554 in 2025).
Social fies
The announcement of the selection process reserves 50% of the vacancies for Fie Social, launched in 2024. To compete, the candidates must have an active registration in the single register for the social programs of the federal government (Cadúnico) and family income per person up to half a minimum wage, today $ 759.
The new mode launched by the MEC allows a loan of up to 100% of the educational expenses charged by the Higher Education Institute, as well as reserve shares for blacks, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities.
The classification in the Fie selection process will be made on the basis of the decreasing order of the degrees obtained by the candidates in Enem, by type of vacant place, a group of preferences and methods of competition.
The order of the priorities considers those who have not completed higher education and/or have not benefited from the financing of the students.
Fies’s new loan is forbidden to candidates who have not paid Fie’s previous funding or the educational credit program or who are in the period of use of the loan.
Calendar
Fies has a single call and a waiting list. The result with the names of the pre -selection in the single call will be released on July 29th. Students will then access the Fies selection To demonstrate the information and complete the registration from 30 July to 1 August.
Students who are not pre -selected will be automatically in the waiting list to fill unmarried vacant places, observing the classification order. The pre -selection of the waiting list will take place from 5 August to 19 September.
