Supermanlong written and directed by James Gunn (Galaxy Guardians: Volume 3), and which brings the resumption of the DC (DCU) cinematic universe, was censored in Indian theaters by “excessively sensual” scenes.
According to Variety, the Central India Film Certification Council (CBFC), removed two kiss scenes from the feature among the characters from David Corenswet (Hollywood) and Rachel Brosnahan(The Marvelous Ms. Maisel), including the 33 seconds they float in the air.
The cut was made so that the feature film could obtain an indicative classification “acceptable” to over 13 years, but ended up generating indignation. On social networks, fans commented that the decision is “inconsistent and conservative censorship,” besides being completely “incomprehensible” as the country preserved all the scenes of violence in the plot.
