Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are not the only claims of David Leitch’s tape.
‘Bullet Train’, the action movie directed by David Leitch (‘Deadpool 2’), has finally arrived on our billboards. Based on the novel ‘Bullet Train’, by Kōtarō Isaka, the controversial film -before its release, ‘Bullet Train’ had to deal with the whitewashing controversy- follows the character of “Ladybug” (Brad Pitt), a bounty hunter obsessed with his bad luck accustomed to simple jobs whose mission is to get hold of a briefcase that is hidden somewhere on this high-speed train that runs all over Japan. The detail you didn’t know? That he’s not the only one looking for that briefcase.
The cast of ‘Bullet Train’, one of the best movies aboard a train, is led by a Brad Pitt that, as he did in the ‘Ocean’s’ trilogy, in ‘Burn after reading’ and in ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith ‘, returns to show the funniest side of him. In each of the wagons we can also find some friends (the least) and enemies: Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Hiroyuki Sanada Y Logan Lerman. But are not the only ones.
‘Bullet Train’ producer Kelly McCormick told IndieWire how each of David Leitch’s approved and orchestrated cameos came to be, now that we’ve also learned that ‘Fight Club’ inspired the director of ‘Bullet Train’.
From here, spoilers for ‘Bullet Train’

The ‘Magic Mike’ actor appears in the film as a “random passenger” and shares some hilarious scenes with Brad Pitt, including some sexual confusion between them.
“The character was just supposed to be ‘someone,'” McCormick said. “For a long time, we were looking at a lot of tapes [de audiciones] and wondering who it could be. There were a lot of great ones, especially since we were shooting in Los Angeles and there are a lot of great actors here. But then we were like, ‘I wonder what Chan is doing, I wonder if he’s around here, wouldn’t that be fun?
Michael Shannon
This is a half cameo because, despite the fact that some flashbacks allow us to discover the White Death wearing a mask, its importance and weight in the film is too important to consider it a “cameo”, but it is true that this revelation comes when Shannon’s character takes off her mask, which is quite a surprise by also revealing that he is the father of the manipulative Joey King (curious that the actress goes from being ‘The Princess’, in the new Disney + movie to being here ‘Prince’).
“David pushed White Death more into being the orchestrator, which I think works really well and gave Michael a lot more to do,” McCormick said. “He was the first person we went to for that role, I think, and we’ve wanted to work with him for a long time.”
McCormick confessed to the long-circulating rumor that Shannon was about to play Cable in Leitch’s ‘Deadpool 2’. “It was almost Cable actually,” the producer said. “Then there was some kind of conflict at the last minute […] Josh Brolin was so good as Cable, I can’t even imagine what it would have been like without him.” Will he appear in the future ‘Deadpool 3’, one of Marvel’s biggest bets for the next few years?
Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds appears very briefly at the end of the film as the person who should take care of this mission (instead of poor “Ladybug”).
That cameo? “Revenge for Brad being in ‘Deadpool 2’ for two seconds,” McCormick laughed, referring to an equally brief appearance by Pitt as the Vanisher in Leitch’s 2018 film. It was about the same length!” If you don’t remember this fleeting moment, that’s how he got the star cameo in the movie ‘Deadpool 2’.
McCormick clarifies that Reynolds really wanted to do it to the point that he shot it on the set of one of the most popular Netflix movies of this year, ‘The Adam Project’, Ryan Reynolds’ tribute to 80s cinema: “We sent him the suit and some helmets for him to choose from.”
Sandra Bullock
It is not a surprise that Sandra Bullock appears in the film, but it is that she does so in the final act.
“It was always written that way,” McCormick said. “We actually shot a lot more stuff that we tried to get in, and it was almost like the more of it we had, the harder it was for it not to be in it. So we ended up pulling a bunch of stuff out, and we had that moment at the end that it’s so special. I only had two days to shoot, so it ended up working out really well because that was all we could do for that role.”
Now you know where this union between Pitt, Bullock and Tatum was forged that has given rise to one of the romantic comedies of the year. Thanks to the premiere of ‘The Lost City’, Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock have given us a unique “momentazo” by playing “truth or dare”.
