Magnum: Actor Roger E. Mosley’s death

His face was well known to fans of the Magnum series. Roger E. Mosley played helicopter pilot Theodore “Terry” Calvin in the series. A friend of Thomas Magnum, Ricky, and Higgins, his character appears in 156 of the 162 episodes that make up the series between 1980 and 1988. The actor died on Sunday morning at the age of 83. The causes of his death are unknown.

Born in December 1938 in Los Angeles, Roger E. Mosley grew up in the Watts area, which would sadly become famous for the August 1965 riots that killed 34 people. After small roles in the 1971-1972 TV series and as a truck driver in the big detective film Cops Don’t Sleep at Night, he would go on to star in Mac, a Blacksploitation classic.

If the actor has done well in several films, in fact in several long careers, he has mainly distinguished himself on the small screen, with roles in Kojak, Kung-Fu, Starsky & Hutch, Walker Texas Ranger, Baretta… In the reboot of the Magnum series, which began in 2018, he agreed to play a small role, But different from the role he played alongside Tom Selleck for eight years.
