Goodnight,

I just received the news that ‘I’m still here’ was recognized by the Argentine Cinema Academy. Many thanks to all the voters.

The best American movie award is an honor for all of us, which we did ‘I’m still here’. To FERNANDA TORRES, Fernanda Montenegrofor each of the actors and technicians who made our film possible – and for me. We share a profound admiration for Argentine cinema, their extraordinary actors, directors and writers, their producers and hugely talented artisans.

‘I’m still here’ deals with the importance of memory and resistance during the obscure years of the military dictatorship, these two territories that Argentine cinema explored and taught us to approach in an exemplary way. At this time when democracy is being attacked in so many countries, this recognition has become even more significant.

I especially thank dear friends who, such as Santiago Miter, Agustina Llambi, Leticia Cristi and Matías Mosteirín, have made possible unforgettable projections of our movie in Buenos Aires.

Long life to Argentine cinema and democracy!
