PL Zucco says that the government must “get out of paralysis” and that Brazil is in “institutional instability”, while Lindbergh Farias of Lula’s party says that the United States wants to “submit Brazil as if it were a neocolonia”
Brasilia-Sosteneri of the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the Chamber of Representatives commented on the imposition of 50% of the rates on Brazil and the sanctions to the Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes on Wednesday, through an official declaration.
For the opposition, Trump’s action shows that Lula “must leave paralysis and act urgently” and underlines that “subsequent abuses, arbitrary and controversial decisions have placed Brazil in an unprecedented institutional instability”.
On the other hand, the PT states that the rate is a “political-economic and aggression for our national sovereignty” and that the American government acts “imperialist, extraterritorial and illegal, articulated by the fascist international in an attempt to transform Donald Trump into the new Cesar”.
This Wednesday 30, Trump signed the decree that officials the rates of 50% to the products exported by Brazil. In total there are 694 exceptions, but Coffee and meat should suffer by 40% to 10% of existing rates.
The text takes on a more political than economic tone, with attacks in Moraes, in defense in Bolsonaro and its supporters.
“Today, President Donald J. Trump has signed an executive order by implementing a further 40% rate on Brazil, increasing the total rate of the rate to 50%, to manage recent policies, practices and shares of the Brazilian government which constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat for national security, foreign policy and the economy of the United States”, says the text of the White House.
The note of the opposition to the Chamber, signed by the deputy Zucco (PL-GRS) states that the STF, the National Congress and the executive power should review the excesses in Bolsonaro.
“It is essential that the Supreme Court, the National Congress and the Executive include the gravity of the moment and revise the excesses committed, especially in actions relating to the processes of January 8 and the accusations directed to President Jair Bolsonaro. The political persecution and the use of the justice of a tool of intimidation not only of Corrode not only democracy, but also to isolate Brazil in the international scenario”.
On the other hand, the PT leader in the house, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), asks for a reaction to the Mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), to guide the revocation of the Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), fleeing in the United States and one of the Bolsonarist articulators with the Trump government.
Lindbergh Farias also calls for Moraes, a speaker of investigation against Eduardo, requires the precautionary removal from the mandate of the parliamentarian PL. The text asks the Brazilian population to defend Brazilian sovereignty.
“They try to intimidate the Supreme Court, threaten the congress and submit Brazil as if it were a neocolonia. We will not bend: here is Brazil and we will continue to negotiate the rates in the multilateral plan, without prejudice to look for new markets, strengthen the bric and protect our constitution, democracy and our sovereignty,” says the note. “We will call a great campaign in defense of Brazil, sovereignty, the territory and our greatest wealth: the Brazilian people.”
