Lindsay Lohan claims to be based on his motherhood experiences for “A Crazy Friday”, the long -awaited sequence of his successful film from 2003, “very crazy on Friday”.
Lohan, 39, had his first child in 2023, a year before the filming of the Disney film.
“I heard a complete cycle for me and the moment was impeccable, considering that I am a new mother and I was able to bring the fact that I was a mother to the character,” Lohan said at the debut of the film in London on Thursday. “This is the first time I can do it on the screen.”
“Very crazy on Friday”, with a budget of $ 26 million, it was a surprising success, gaining over 160 million dollars worldwide and winning a cult audience.
The continuation of 2025 shows Lohan and the actress Jamie Lee Curtis who resume the newspapers of mother and daughter Tes and Anna Coleman. Twenty years later, Anna is a single mother of the teenage daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters.
Their relationship is underlined when Anna falls in love with Eric (Manny Jacinto), father of Harper’s new British colleague, Lily (Sophia Hammons), and decide to get married. The future sisters, who do not like them, decide to intervene.
While in the 2003 film there was an exchange of bodies between Tess and Anna, this time things become more “strange”, with Tess and Anna exchanged bodies with Lily and Harper.
Before participating in the sequence, Lohan assured that Anna returned as a multifaceted and identifiable character.
“It was important for me to explain who Anna is today, how she evolved and the dynamics between her and her daughter, since she is a single mother and she works. There are some basic points that I wanted to convey, because I want people to see the film and find a part of it where they can cling and think: ‘Ok, I understand’, he said.
Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the film also brings the actor Chad Michael Murray who resumes the role of the loving interest of the young Anna, Jake.
The filming of the sequence was a “love festival”, Murray said.
“It was the same, but better. It seemed very similar to the mood of the first film. Everyone loved to go to work and nobody wanted to go home.”
“A Still Crazy Friday” scores Lohan’s return to the big screen.
“It is obviously stressful because you want the film to be fantastic and people like what you do,” he said. “As long as people enjoy what I am doing and that makes them happy, I feel I am doing my job and that’s what I’m here.”
“Crazy Friday still” starts her global launch of the film next week.
