Alleged ‘Batgirl’ Plot Leaks, And Fans Are Surprised: ‘It Wasn’t That Bad I Got Canceled’

Michael Keaton was set to join the cast of DC’s ‘Batgirl,’ a movie canceled by Warner Bros. The actor even revealed why he agreed to be Batman 30 years after his last film.

Until its cancellation was announced, there was little information about this production and it was suggested that its plot would focus on the origin of the character of Barbara Gordon, also known as “Batgirl”. It was also known that the villain of this film would be Firefly, played by Brendan Fraser.

Other than these details, little was known about the plot. But that changed, as a user leaked online the supposed plot of the movie if it had been released.

This Is How The Alleged Plot Of ‘Batgirl’ Was Leaked

It was via Twitter that user @ViewerAnon claimed to have seen test screenings of “Batgirl” and stated that the Leslie Grace-starring film “wasn’t a disaster,” so he was surprised at the decision to cancel it:

“This would be really weird: From what I’ve heard, the test screenings of ‘Batgirl’ haven’t gotten great ratings or anything, but there’s never been any indication that it’s a disaster, and most people I know do. they saw that at least it was okay.”

Brendan Fraser as Firefly Would Stand Out in ‘Batgirl’

One aspect that many expected from the film was the inclusion of Brendan Fraser as the story’s villain, a sociopathic arsonist named Firefly. And it is that according to fans, seeing the star of “The Mummy” and “George de la Selva” in the DC cinematic universe was one of the moments that caught their attention the most.

However, @ViewerAnon offered more details about the character from the canceled movie, including his personal history and his reasons for becoming a villain:

“Everyone loved Brendan Fraser as Firefly. His story: He was a thug working for a Gotham mob boss (…) Firefly got a regular job to try to pay for his sick wife’s health care and was fired from his job and his health insurance was canceled . , so desperate he returns to crime.”
