The 78th edition of the Locarno Festival presented this on August 8 as a worldwide revision, due to Mektoub My Loveo. On one day, the fans of Abdelatif Kechi and more broadly filmmakers are very expected!

Abdelatif Kechch is a golden palm in 2013, with Adele’s life, by Steven Spielberg filmmaker and his two actors, Adel Exarchopulos and La Seiduk. What is the story of Mektoub My Love Canto?

Amin (Shaan Bumedin) returns to Seth after studying in Paris, always dreaming of a movie theater. Who are Kanto’s new characters?

How should the film be with Kanto with regard to the UN and Intermesos?

For the record, Intermezzo had a difference to draw about 2/3 of the nightclubs and about 1/3 of the beach. There is no scene in Kanto at a nightclub. It should be noted that the updated version of the scene of the intermezzo beach is visible because of Canto. The film’s voice supervisor Karim Tukabri confirmed this information to us.

Karim Tukabri, who also worked on Intermezzo, told us that Abelatif Kechche wanted to make a summer movie, a soft, not so noisy. Sound work was done in this sense, working on summer sensations, in parallel, warm colors of the image. Karim Tukabri’s work, along with his voice team, also included conversations very lively and heard at once.

Other noteworthy things: Abelatif Kechic gives more places in a humorous place. Several scenes have made the public laugh at the session we were on. Only the last third of the film is much more dramatic, but at the same time stronger in tension.

Can Canto cause confrontation such as intermezzo?

As mentioned above, the tone of the canto is close to the Canto Uno, not at all. Intermemo gave the music a great place (2/3 of the film was dance pipes since the 90’s), dance and sensuality, with this famous oral sex that led to a scandal. Because of Canto, a zero night club, a small dance and a sexy scene, much less raw than in its previous films.

Because of Mektoub My Love Canto, it is likely to be one of the most affordable films in Abelatif Kechch. It is much more narrative and less thoughtful. In other words, the filmmaker makes his obsession at a very long stage of observation. There is always a necessity for his movie theater: the central character he loves the film (on an autobiographical scale, here’s the filmmaker), the long conversation between the characters, the food scenes, the dance, the very work lights … he gives some scenes, but the story is much rich in fate and alternation. The film is in the last 30 minutes, which goes into a more tragic direction.

In general, due to Kanto, the bodies and nakedness gives less space. There are several scenes of nakedness, but it is “male” (male face), which was considered to be many things for the UN and Intermeso, was much less identified here. The movie scene does not appear as a priority to cause confrontation.

How long has the movie? Are there other long versions?

Because of Canto, the shortest of three meatups. It lasts 2h14. Canto Uno continued 2h55, and Intermo, 3:32. Like Carma Tukabri, the film’s voice supervisor, Canto, gave us more than twenty versions that we told us! The longest of them lasted more than 3 hours. The commercial potential of the film is crucial for the disclosure if the release is provided. The first echo in the film is quite enthusiastic. The projection is applied, quite rare in the locarno festival’s usually more “modest” atmosphere.

Abelatif Kechche has always had the desires of films that are located in several components. It was already for Adel’s life, which had to be initially followed by another film that would never happen, especially because of the confrontations that were born during the release of the feature film.

For Mectub, the director several times said he was working on the third part. Is it still relevant? Nothing has been confirmed at this time. But Canto’s removal allows the idea that the project is not over.

Keep in mind that Abdelatif Kechche currently has health problems. As the liberation revealed a few days ago, the director was a stroke victim last March, and explained his absence at the Locarno Festival. Much of the casting is expected this Saturday, August 9, including the screening of the film, including Ophiel Bau. Actors and actors will exchange the public after the session.
