Italy offers itself to host a meeting of Trump, Putin and Zelensky

The declaration was given by the deputy premier Antonio Tajani

Italy has offered to host a possible bilateral meeting among the presidents of the United States Donald Trump, Russia, Vladimir Putin and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The news arrives in the wake of the meeting between Trump and Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, who has not yet brought concrete news about the end of the Russian-Ukian war, but which, according to the two leaders, can open the way for peace.

“Italy has always offered its availability to accommodate any summit for the construction of peace, both as regards the Middle East or Ukraine,” said the Stamper and the Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, in an interview with Reta 4 TV.

“We will go to host meetings and we are available, but we will continue with intense diplomatic work so that the war has a short deadline,” he added.

Italy proposes that Ukraine has guarantees of security in the model of article 5 of the NATO Treaty, which states that an attack on a member country is an aggression for the entire alliance. Therefore, according to Tajani, Kiev would have “military protection against any attempt by the Russian Federation to start a war”.

Rome was even investigated by Trump to receive the summit with Putin, but the hypothesis was rejected by the Kremlin, which considers the European country very aligned with Ukraine. .
