Actress Tatiana Maslany, star of “Orphan Black” and the upcoming “She-Hulk” series, already has a new television project underway. She will star in the costume series “Invitation to a Bonfire”.

Based on the book of the same name by Adrienne Celt, the series will take place in 1930, in a girls’ boarding school. The plot follows a young Russian immigrant involved in a deadly love triangle with a famous writer invited to teach at school.

The story of the series is inspired by the codependent relationship between Russian writer Vladimir Nabokov and his wife Vera, and the story of the relationship with a young woman suggests echoes of the author’s most famous book, the classic “Lolita”.

In Celt’s book, however, the writer is called Leo. The role will be played by Pilou Asbaek (Euron Greyjoy from “Game of Thrones”), Maslany will play that professor’s wife, and Freya Mavor (“Industry”) will be the student.

“Invition to a Bonfire” was created by screenwriter Rachel Caris Love (“Blindspot”) and was developed for the American pay channel AMC.

The series doesn’t have a premiere date yet.

“She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes”, in turn, will debut next Thursday (18/8) on the Disney + streaming service.
