Hamas’ victory and the release of all hostages are interconnected objectives, Benjamin Netanyahu highlighted in a video of deliberately vague so as not to mind the most radical wing of its political coalition.
Thursday, the Israeli Prime Minister ordered the “immediate recovery of negotiations for the liberation of all our hostages and the end of the war in acceptable conditions for Israel” in the context of a truce agreement.
The declaration was issued three days after Hamas gave the green signal to the last proposal of Egypt, Qatar and the United States. However, the proposal has never been explicitly mentioned by the Prime Minister of Israel.
According to the terms accepted by the Palestinian Islamic group, a fire was set up for 60 days, during which the hostages diverted during the attacks of 7 October 2023, as well as the Palestinian prisoners in Israel, would have been released.
Katz threatens Hamas: “The infernal doors will open”
On Friday, the Israeli authorities have announced that the negotiation team is ready to leave, waiting only for the definition of the negotiation site.
“Soon, the doors of hell will open up to the killers and rapists of Hamas in Gaza, until they accept Israel’s conditions to end the war, in particular the release of all the hostages and disarmament” of the Palestinian Islamic movement, wrote the Israeli defense minister Katz, on the X network.
“If they do not accept, Gaza, the capital of Hamas, will become Rafah or Beit Hanoun,” he added, referring to two cities in the Gaza strip widely devastated by Israel in the war against Hamas which lasted almost two years.
The Israeli army reported that Gaza hospitals and international humanitarian organizations are prepared to evacuate from north to south of the Palestinian encycling. This appeal was rejected by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which has control of the Hamas government.
According to a survey published on Friday by the Israeli newspaper Maariv, 62% of Israelis are no longer based on their government.
Humanitarian cause and hunger in Gaza
While the United Nations and the different humanitarian ONS warn the imminent risk of hunger in the Gaza Strip, for this Friday the publication of a new international report on the besieged Palestinian territory is expected.
In the latest version published at the end of July, the IPC report (English for the classification of integrated food security) indicated that “the worst hunger scenario is underway in the Gaza strip” due to the intensification of the fighting, the enormous movements of the population and the restrictions on humanitarian aid.
“Do you know who hungry hungry? The hostages kidnapped and tortured by the barbarians of Hamas”, wrote the Ambassador of the United States in Israel, Mike Huckabe, a fervent supporter of Israel, even before the publication of the relationship. “Perhaps the terrorists of superevity can share with the hungry, especially with the hostages, part of the complete stocks of what they have stolen,” he added.
In the Gaza strip, the witnesses report the despair of thousands of Palestinians who resist Gaza and implore food distributions and humanitarian aid in the devastated territory.
Although he claims to want to negotiate an agreement of the fire and a release of hostages to Gaza, Israel, which currently controls about 75% of the Palestinian territory, intensifies its military pressure. The Netanyahu government has approved an attack plan against the city of Gaza this week, the largest in the area, and has announced the convening of another 60,000 reserve.
