Rapper says he went to the cinema with his grandchildren and was embarrassed by the questions that the animation generated in the children by portraying a homosexual couple
The rapper Snoop Dogg criticized the movie Lightyear (2022). The work derived from the franchise Toy Story portray a homosexual relationship between two women – the supporting Alisha Hawthorne and Kiko.
When participating in the podcast IT’S GIVING (via New York Post), the hip hop star specifically cited the scene in which the couple LGBTQIAPN+ appears with their son.
According to him, the fact that two women, Alisha and Kiko, have a son in history generated questioning on the part of their grandchildren. The artist stated that he would not have an answer to this question.
Snood Doog reported:
“My grandson, in the middle of the movie, said, ‘Papa Snoop, how did she have a child with a woman? She is a woman.”
That would have left the rapper embarrassed in his words:
“So it’s like, put, I’m afraid to go to the movies now. Like, you playing me in the middle of a shit to which I have no answer.”
Snoog dog added:
“They will ask questions, and I don’t have the answer.”
The controversy around Lightyear
Launched by Pixar three years ago, LightyearIt also generated controversy by portraying a gay kiss between Alisha Hawthorne and Kiko.
The animation film was prohibited in countries in the Middle Easthow Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait.
Originally, the Disney I had asked Pixar animators to cut the lesbian kiss from the movie. However, after a studio staff statement claiming that Disney was censoring “openly gay affection,” the request was withdrawn and the scene was in the final version.
In Lightyearthe character Alisha Hawthorne is portrayed as homosexual. His romance with his wife is an important part of the protagonist’s plot and motivation Buzz to leave in its dangerous mission in the outer space.
