Lauren Ambrose walks into “yellow jackets”

American pay channel Showtime has announced that “Six Feet Under” and “Servant” actress Lauren Ambrose has joined the second season of “Yellowjackets”.

She will play the adult version of Van, who until then had only appeared in the series as a teenager, played by Liv Hewson.

The lineup implies that Van survived the tragedy of the high school women’s football team, stuck in the mountains for 19 months after their plane crashed.

So far, the series has focused on four survivors, played by Melanie Lynskey (Shauna), Christina Ricci (Misty), Juliette Lewis (Natalie) and Tawny Cypress (Taissa). But the inaugural season finale revealed that Lottie (played as a teenager by Courtney Eaton) was also alive. From there, many fans guessed that Van may have survived.

The series takes place in two timelines, alternating between scenes of girls struggling to survive in 1996 and scenes set in the present day, in which a handful of adult survivors try to keep everything that happened a secret.

In the 1996 timeline, Van and Taissa have a romantic relationship, which promises to complicate matters for their adult selves to reunite, as Taissa ends the season by winning the Senate election.

A critical and audience success, “Yellowjackets” received seven Emmy nominations, including Best Drama Series. She also had nominations for Screenplay, Direction and for actresses Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci.

Filming for the second season will begin later this month in Vancouver, Canada, but there are no plans for the premiere yet.

The series is made available in Brazil by Paramount +.
