Luis Fernando Verissimo, one of the greatest writers in Brazil, died on Saturday (30), at the age of 88.
The reporter was hospitalized since 11 August at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Moinhos de Vento Hospital of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.
Very Verissimo, who had Parkinson’s, heart problems and faced motor difficulties due to stroke, died of complications of pneumonia.
Originally from Porto Alegre, Verissimo has published dozens of books throughout his life, including “The Best of Private Comedies” (1994), “The Analyst of BagĂ©” (1981) and “and Mort and Other Stories” (1979).
The writer, son of Erico Verissimo, another name of great importance of national literature, left his wife, Lucia Helena Massa, three children and two grandchildren. .
