“Two Brasis measure the force before the verdict on Bolsonaro”: which said the international press on the documents

The international press has highlighted the events in favor and against the former president Jair Bolsonaro held on the day of Brazil’s independence in various Brazilian cities.

The international press has highlighted the events in favor and against the former president Jair Bolsonaro held on Sunday (7/9) -Brasile Independent Day-in different Brazilian cities.

The documents took place the week in which a verdict in the Bolsonaro trial and seven defendants of the coup d’état attempt is expected, which could bring the former president to prison.

“The two Brasis face the streets of Bolsonaro Verdict on the eve,” said the Spanish newspaper El País.

“Institutional Brazil, led by President Luiz Inacio da Silva and pockets – without his leader, Jair Bolsonaro, who is under arrest domicilo – took to the street on Sunday 7 September, independence day, in separate events,” said the main newspaper of Spain.

“The left brought about 8,000 people to San Paolo, while the pockets collected about 42,000 people in the largest of its gears in the same city, according to the Brazilian center for analysis and planning,” said the newspaper.

El País’ article says that the pockets already have the condemnation of Bolsonaro, and so they went to the street to ask the former president and other politicians and demonstrators sentenced to court. Many also showed US flags and asked for greater support to the President of the United States Donald Trump, who would be “the last hope and a key tool” to obtain an amnesty in Brazil.

The newspaper also stated that Lula led the official parade of 7 September, in which the ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) was not participated. Lula declared in a television speech that “we are not nor will we be again colony of anyone” and we call “traitors of the homeland” the politicians who “encourage attacks against Brazil”.

On the right it has “significantly” over the left

The New York Times said that Bolsonaro supporters “flooded the streets on the eve of their waiting for conviction”.

“Thousands of Brazilians took to the streets on the day of the independence of the country on Sunday in political protests, opening a weekly week that should end with the condemnation of the former president Jair Bolsonaro,” said the American newspaper, observing that the demonstrations were mostly peaceful and took place in cities across the country.

“On the right, the Brazilians wrapped in Brazilian and American flags protested against criminal proceedings against Bolsonaro, accused of trying to remain in power after losing the election of 2022. On the left, people asked the arrest of Bolsonaro and denounced the efforts of President Trump to protect the former president.”

“Sunday afternoon, the aerial images of various protests left little doubts that Bolsonaro’s supporters were significantly overcoming the left protesters, showing that – even in the middle of their legal problems – it remains a significant political force in Brazil”, says the New York Times article.

The article then questioned “but does it matter?” – Not underlining that Bolsonaro’s sentence is expected, with penalties that can reach 40 years in prison.

The New York Times highlighted the lines of Lula in the television declaration on September 7 in which the president says that Brazil will not accept orders from anyone – that it would be a “message to Trump”.

The American newspaper said that “with the condemnation of Bolsonaro seen as inevitable both on the right and on the left, Sunday protests were largely focused on the issue of the amnesty”.

“The issue of the amnesty is particularly sensitive in Brazil, where military officers have already received this protection for the crimes committed during the country’s dictatorship from 1964 to 1985, when the Brazilians were arrested, tortured and missing”.

Bolsonarist’s Trump’s support “

The British newspaper The Guardian covered his pockets in an article with the title: “” It is our last resource “: the supporters of Bolsonaro who ask for Trump to intervene at the process of the former president for coup d’état”.

“The left president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, promised that his country will not accept orders from anyone, since the followers of his distant predecessor went to the street to ask Donald Trump to harden the government and the judiciary of Brazil on the eve of Jair Bolsonaro for presumed planning of a coup,” Guardian.

“At the events of Sunday, Bolsonaro supporters asked Trump to do more to help his 70 -year -old leader, who has lived in home arrest since the beginning of August after violating an order of the court that has forbidden him to use social networks. If sentenced this week, he could take a sentence of up to 43 years”, says the British newspaper.

“In Rio, thousands of demonstrators gathered in Copacabana Beach to show their support in Bolsonaro, who maintain the support of millions of Brazilians, despite the accusations that orchestrated a failed blow.”

Guardian also states that “the joy of the left with the first condemnation of a politician who, according to public prosecutors, tried to bring Brazil back to an authoritarian regime has been cooled by anger for the intervention of Trump and fears that the Congress of the country conservative can possibly approve a lover for Bolsonaro”.

Sunday events were also present in other international vehicles.

Clarín of Argentina said: “Thousands of people go to the street in front of the verdict on the former president Jair Bolsonaro”. Argentine also reported: “Bolsonaro Protestes Challenge Lula before the alleged coup d’état trial”.
