Marvel vetoed Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes,” but compensated the writers by letting them have fun with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.
The details behind the scenes were brought to light by series creator and showrunner Jessica Gao (“Rick and Morty”) in an interview with The Direct.

Without Spider-Man, the writers bet on Daredevil, who has always been portrayed dramatically and serially, with a mission to change that image.
“The funny thing about bringing Daredevil into our universe is that people have already seen this character in a very tragic and dark version … where you know him, more dramatic and action oriented, and you get him to act in a different tone. The showrunner also took the opportunity to praise actor Charlie Cox, who after his three seasons on Netflix and a small participation in “Spider-Man: No Return Home”, officially returns to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) in uniform. . “Charlie is ready to do anything.
