Jimmy Kimmel defeats George Santos’ charm on videos

Jimmy Kimmel defeated an appeal of the former New York deputy George Santos, who accused the presenter of deceiving him to make personalized videos in the cameo app and use them to deride the republican now arrested.

In a 3-0 decision on Monday, the 2nd Appeal Court of the United States circuit in Manhattan said Kimmel “strictly” of the videos of his ABC program “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Comment on the alleged availability of Santos of “say absurd things” for money.

“The complaint shows a portrait of the defendants motivated by criticism (sarcastic) and comments,” it is not a desire to usurpate the financial interest of Santos in the videos, wrote judge Raymond Lohier.

Santos’s lawyers did not immediately respond to the requests of the comments. A lawyer from Kimmel, ABC and his controller, Walt Disney, has not made immediate comments.

The defendants have been accused of copyright violations, fraudulent induction and other videos relating to videos, which Kimmel has broadcast in segments called “Will Santos says it?”.

Santos estimated that he had earned more than $ 350,000 with videos, for which he charged about $ 350 each. Has requested an unspecified allowance.

Santos, son of the Brazilians, was sentenced to 7.25 years in prison after being guilty of electronic fraud and aggravated identity theft in relation to the collection of funds for his successful candidacy for Congress in 2022.

Santos spent 11 months in the position involved in a scandal, after revelations of having falsified a large part of his curriculum, and was revoked by Congress.

It is in a medium security arrest in Faerton, New Jersey, and can be released in September 2031.

A first unstable judge in Manhattan rejected the civil proceedings of Santos against Kimmel on August 19, 2024, on the same day on which Santos declared himself guilty in the criminal procedure of Central Islip, New York.
