Studio IFC has released the poster and trailer for the independent science fiction “Vesper”, set in a dystopian future in which the earth’s ecosystem has collapsed.

The film stars Raffiella Chapman (from “His Dark Materials”) as a 13-year-old survivor named Vesper, who could be the key to saving the planet. Raised by her widowed father on the weakened surface of the Earth, she finds a woman she shouldn’t have contact with and discovers a way to restore fertility to the world.

The visually refined production is directed by Lithuanian Kristina Buozyte and Frenchman Bruno Samper, who previously made the cult psychedelic sci-fi film “Aurora” (2012).

The cast also includes Eddie Marsan (“Ray Donovan”), Rosy McEwen (“The Alienist”) and Richard Brake (“Mandy”).

Awarded at the fantastic Bucheon film festival in South Korea, “Vesper” will premiere on September 30 in the US and does not yet have a release date in Brazil.
