Latin American classic starring Gael García Bernal returns to the screens in restored version, 25 years after his debut

Mubi, in partnership with Portrait Filmes, will relaunch Gross loves (Love), Alejandro G. Iñárritu (21 grams) and milestone of contemporary Latin American cinema in Brazilian theaters. The feature, which turns 25 in 2025, returns in a 4K restored version, aired this year in the Cannes Classics team and now in worldwide circulation.

Launched in 2000, the film follows three stories interconnected by the brutality of a car accident in Mexico City. Among love, violence and survival, Iñárritu builds a fragmented and visceral portrait of urban life, paving the way for the aesthetics that would mark his career in works as 21 grams and Babel.

The cast has Gael García Bernal, Goya Toledo, Emilio Echevarría and Vanessa Bauchebetween others. Awarded the Grand Prix of the Critical Week at the Cannes Festival and nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film, Gross loves consolidated Iñárritu as one of the great 21st century filmmakers and revealed fundamental names for contemporary Mexican cinema. The relaunch date has not yet been revealed.
