If you’re an NBA fan like me, you probably know that the pro basketball league has featured some unique personalities over the years. From the cerebral Bill Russell to the eclectic Dennis Rodman, many memorable names competed. And many of them athletes could be the titles of their sports docuseries . Now, such a project belongs to another star: Carmelo Anthony. And during the show’s announcement, Anthony explained why it was time to tell the story of him.
Carmelo Anthony will be the focus of a four-part docuseries that will provide an insight into the future professional and sometimes tumultuous personal life of the future Hall of Famer. the next show, Seven, is produced by the star’s production company, Creative 7, as well as Westbrook Studios and Falkon Entertainment. Obviously, the first thing fans will likely wonder is why the 38-year-old star is running right now. Well, as she said in a statement shared with Term you are done with others speaking on your behalf:
Probably the biggest question everyone thinks about is: why now? Why choose this moment to tell my story? In other words, I spent enough time letting others speak for me. It’s time for my truth. I hope that viewers will finally have the chance to hear my journey in my own words. Westbrook Studios, Falkon Entertainment and my Creative 7 team have hugely supported my vision for this project and I am proud to have been able to bring this series to life.
It is true that a lot has been said over the years about the decorated baseball player. Almost two decades ago, he was a major talking point in the sports world after winning an NCAA championship with Syracuse before being drafted by the Denver Nuggets at number 3 that same year. Many of the 10-time All-Star’s 10 field performances have been lauded since then, although he has also had some personal problems, including his own. Cheating scandal with ex-wife Lala Anthony . I am very interested to hear Carmelo Anthony give his perspective on the most significant moments in his life.
NBA fans certainly haven’t been left behind when it comes to impactful docuseries lately. 2020 saw the release of ESPN’s Chicago Bulls document, The Last Dance (now airing for netflix subscribers ) and Apple TV + The Magic Johnson series, influenced by that of Michael Jordan It fell a few months ago. And if that’s not enough, Legacy: the true story of the LA Lakers is currently airing for Hulu subscription I have to mention that the star of the Golden State Warriors Draymond Green even got his own documentary on Amazon earlier this year?
Based on the information that has been announced so far, one could assume that Seven it will follow a formula that is something like they call magic‘S. This show also had four episodes and effectively dealt with the various stages in the life of the Lakers legend. Time Magic went into detail on the life of his subject, I expect Carmelo Anthony’s show to be a little more raw.
At the moment it is not clear where the Carmelo Anthony docuseries could land. Based on the recent trend, it could be headed for a streaming service, although it could land on a premium cable channel like Showtime (which has produced a lot of basketball-related content). No matter where he airs, however, fans of the attacker are sure to tune in to better understand his story.
