For his first film as a director, Yusuke Hirota chose to adapt the children’s book Poupelle et la ville sans ciel, which sold more than 700,000 copies since its release in 2016, and signed Akihiro Nishino, to whom we owe so much, for the screenplay. the other side of the sky Combining 2D and 3D, the film departs from traditional Japanese cinema in a fantasy world by blending an occasionally dark aesthetic and vibrant colors.
