Until next October 12th, the Pernambuco International Animation Festival brings together 134 films from 51 countries in Recife, in competitive and special exhibitions
Until next October 12th, the Animage – Pernambuco International Animation Festival celebrates its 15 years with a new edition. In all, 134 films, including short and feature films, from 51 countries, will be shown in Recife History spaces, in sessions with large national and international premieres, retrospective, restored classics and more.
In 2025, the festival hit a historic record: there were more than 2,300 registrations from 112 countries, to compete in the competitive show, which selected 72 short shorts in 11 programs. With awards in 11 categories, the jury is composed by the Portuguese director Nuno Beatothe animator Jason Tadeu and the Pernambuco journalist Luciana Veras.
“The 15 years of Animage They consolidate the festival as a showcase of national and international animation. Diversity is at the center of this trajectory, as well as the commitment to form new audiences and creators, which makes the Animage Not just a display festival, but a space for exchange and development of the art of animation ”states Gutiedirector of Animage.
In addition to the sessions, the Animage It also promotes educational activities, with free admission and translation in pounds. In 2025, conversations are planned with the animator of São Paulo Rosana Urbes and the Portuguese director Nuno Beato, masterclasses with the Bahian Phamelas and the German Frédéric Schuldin addition to workshops taught by CHIA BELOTO, Marila Cantuária, Bruno Cabús and Radhi Meron.
