The Creator and Executive Producer Dallas Jenkins gave an important update on José do Egyptnew series of the universe of The Chosen. During participation in The Relevant Podcast, Jenkins explained that the project – developed by him and the screenwriter Craig Wright – It was thought of as a complement to the narrative ofThe Chosenand not as a continuous production.
“We are doing it as a miniseries, not a series of several seasons. It seemed a good story to fit in among others that we are telling”Said the filmmaker.
Although Jenkins It made it clear that there will be no second season, he highlighted the symbolic value of the narrative and its thematic connection with the trajectory of Jesus Christ, the focus of The Chosen.
“There are many parallels with Jesus. Joseph’s story is what leads to the creation of the law. There is still no structure – people are just experiencing their humanity and solving problems in the worst way. Moses is, in a way, a response to Joseph’s story,” he explained.
