The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’s first photo of young villain Snow in the prequel

After a cryptic teaser released in early June revealing the film’s logo, Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird finally offers the first photo of its new cast, Tom Blythe and Rachel Zeegler.

And here’s the first image from Hunger Games The Ballad of the Serpent and Songbird. The new part of the Hunger Games saga, which is presented as a prequel, is adapted from the novel by Suzanne Collins, like the previous works.

The story takes place 64 years before the main saga, in the years following the “Dark Days” period, the first failed rebellion in Panem.

In this photo we can see the villain Snow Young (Tom Blythe) and Lucy Gray Baird (played by Rachel Zegler, seen in West Side Story).

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Song focuses on the youth of Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth). The 18-year-old is the last hope of his bloodline, a once-proud family that was well-liked in the post-war Capitol.

As the tenth edition of The Hunger Games approaches, he is given the role of mentor to District 12 (the district from which Katniss will come 64 years later), Lucy Gray Baird (as Rachel Zegler, seen in the West storyline). ).

After Lucy catches the attention of all of Panem by singing during the harvest ceremony, Coriolanus thinks he can get into the Capitol’s files and tip the scales in their favor. Snow and Lucy’s race against time to survive will reveal who is the songbird and who is the snake…

This prequel is directed by Francis Lawrence, to whom we owe the last three films of the Hunger Games franchise. Hunter Shaffer, Tom Blythe and Rachel Zeigler are surrounded by young newcomers Nick Benson, Laurel Marsden, Jerome Lance, Lily Cooper and Knox Gibson. Viola Davis also joins the cast.

She will be Dr. Volumnia Gaul in The Ballad of the Snake and the Bird, which hits theaters in November 2023.
