Exclusive presentation will have an audience of just 3,000 “most dedicated fans who will be handpicked” by the event’s production team
As reported, the Maroon 5 returns to Brazil later this year for a show that has been publicized as “free”. The official statement does not use the word, but several media outlets used the term to summarize something that is real: there will be no ticket sales for the presentation, scheduled for December 5th at a location yet to be announced in the city of São Paulo.
The occasion is promoted by Bud LiveBudweiser’s global music and international concert platform. But it will not be open to the entire public, as a mere event with free entry.
According to the beer brand, Maroon 5’s concert in São Paulo “it will only be for the three thousand most dedicated fans, who will be handpicked”. The statement highlights: “only those who prove their love and knowledge of the band will be able to guarantee a place on this unforgettable night”.
It will soon be revealed how fans can gain this unique access. Other details regarding the Bud Live initiative are also expected to be published.
Similar project in 2024
The initiative is similar to the one promoted by the same company in 2024, when holding a concert by another global pop star, Bruno Marswith no admission fee, also in São Paulo. The event took place on October 1st, at the Tokio Marine Hall, a venue with a capacity for 4 thousand people, in the midst of a tour of Brazilian stadiums.
At the time, the Bud Live platform had not yet been announced. The performance took place in partnership with the NGO Citizenship Action and was part of an initiative to mobilize donations for the reconstruction of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, hit by serious floods in 2024.
In total, 750 pairs of invitations were drawn among participants in the solidarity action. Interested parties had to make donations through the initiative’s official page on the Citizenship Action website. For every R$50 donated, the participant received a lucky number to compete for a pair of entries.
The event with Maroon 5 has no charitable purpose announced so far, so the format should be different.
Maroon 5 in Brazil
In a statement, Bud Live states that Maroon 5 was chosen to launch the platform “not by chance”. The country, according to the text, “it is home to one of the largest communities of fans of the band in the world, and this relationship has been strengthening with each tour”.
Although held in a different format than usual, the show will be part of the tour Love is Likepromoting the most recent album, with the same title and released last August. In addition to newer tracks, the repertoire must feature hits from other phases.
Mariana Santosmarketing director for Budweiser in Brazil, states in a note:
“Maroon 5 has a special relationship with Brazil and with the fans here, who are recognized as the most passionate in the world. Therefore, no one better than them to open Bud Live, a platform created precisely to celebrate this unique energy. We want each fan to experience the music up close.”
