Wandinha Addams series gets first trailer

Netflix has released the first trailer for the “Wandinha” series, which highlights the gloomy personality and displacement of the protagonist. The preview explains that she has attended eight different schools in five years and, after playing piranha in the water polo team’s pool, she is finally sent by her family to an “emo” school.

The video shows only the starting point of the series, which will follow the youngest of the Addams family (which in English is called Wednesday) for the first time as a young man after entering Nevermore Academy, where she will have some challenges ahead: mastering the her emerging psychic abilities, thwart a monstrous killing spree terrorizing the city, and solving a supernatural mystery involving her parents 25 years ago, all while navigating their new complicated relationships without losing her lovable morbid traits.

In addition to Jenna Ortega (“Scream 5”) as Wandinha, the cast also includes Catherine Zeta Jones (“The Mask of Zorro”) and Luis Guzmán (“Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”) as her parents Morticia. and Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez (“A Wrinkle in Time”) as his brother Ugly (Pugsley), plus teachers and students of Nevermore: Gwendoline Christie (Brienne from “Game of Thrones”), Thora Birch (Gamma in “The Walking Dead”), Riki Lindhome (“Knives and Secrets”), Jamie McShane (“Mank”), Hunter Doohan (“Your Honor”), Georgie Farmer (“Treadstone”), Moosa Mostafa (“The Last Bus” ), Emma Myers (“Girl in the Basement”), Naomi J. Ogawa (“Skylin3s”), Joy Sunday (“Dear White People”), Percy Hynes White (“The Gifted”) and Christina Ricci’s cameo, the Wandinha from both 90s live-action “The Addams Family” movies.

The writers are Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the duo that created “Smallville” and the latest science fiction martial arts “Into the Badlands”. The stylized gothic look will be under the command of an expert. Known for several comic and youth horrors throughout his career, including “Ghosts Have Fun” (1988) and “Edward Scissorhands” (1990), Tim Burton will direct the episodes and also produce the show.

For now, the premiere is only scheduled for “soon”.
