‘The Bear’ actor plays The Boss in the biopic ‘Springsteen: Save Me from the Unknown’, which premieres in Brazil on October 30
About to have his biopic available in theaters, Bruce Springsteen He said he handpicked the actor he wanted to play him. The decision fell on Jeremy Allen White34-year-old artist who became famous as the protagonist Carmy Berzatto in the series The Bear.
In a publicity interview for Springsteen: Save Me From the Unknownpromoted by Spotify (via Far Out), The Boss revealed that he watched the series that launched Jeremy Allen White to stardom and realized that he had the necessary attributes.
Springsteen explains:
“I saw The Bear and I watched as the camera read his inner life, which was very rich. I knew this was the kind of character we would need: someone who understood the psychological underpinnings of the character. He just had it.”
According to the American singer and songwriter, Jeremy Allen White has a “rock star” aura that was necessary to embody the character:
“If you’ve seen him in a movie, okay, it might be a cliché, but he’s a rock star. You can’t fake it. You either have it or you don’t. He just had it, the swagger and the inner confidence to bring it out in the movie.”

To play the role, Jeremy Allen White learned to play guitar and sing. The actor also delved into Bruce Springsteen’s characteristics to make him as faithful as possible in the cinema.
However, Springsteen guarantees that the role will not just be a copy of him. According to him, Jeremy Allen White had the freedom to explore his own personal interpretation of the character:
“He approached the role in his own way, and I think one of the choices he made was not to imitate, he captured the psychological aspect of the character and it’s a performance that comes from the inside out.”

Written and directed by Scott Cooper (The Pale Blue Eye), Springsteen: Save Me From the Unknown is based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska (2023), by Warren Zanes.
The film hits Brazilian cinemas on October 30th and will focus on the production journey of Nebraska (1982), the album responsible for marking a new artistic direction for the singer of hits such as “Born in the USA”, “Dancing in the Dark”, “I’m On Fire” and “Born to Run”.
