Clarissa Guimarães found herself in the middle of a dispute between former partners Rubens Menin, from Itatiaia, and João Camargo, from TMC
After almost 7 years as a reporter at the Itatiaia radio station in Belo Horizonte, Clarissa Guimarães accepted a proposal from the new radio station TMC, formerly Transamérica.
He resigned and started his new job. But two days later she was fired. The case had repercussions in the Minas Gerais press, having been highlighted on portals such as Moon BH.
The journalist ended up the victim of an ‘anti-poaching’ agreement, i.e. a clause that prevents the hiring of professionals between competing companies.
The owner of Itatiaia, Rubens Menin (also owner of CNN Brasil), and the founder of TMC, João Camargo, reportedly agreed not to steal each other’s team.
They were “partners” until August, when Camargo left the presidency of the executive committee of CNN Brasil after Menin refused to embark on the TMC project. Today they are seen as adversaries in the world of communication.
The question remains: whoever invited Clarissa to TMC, causing her to resign from Itatiaia, was not aware of the legal impediment to her hiring?
And now who will repair the damage to the journalist’s career?
According to Moon BH, Clarissa said she was not in the “psychological condition” to speak at this time.
