99 bets on sustainable mobility for the cities of the future

With the creation of the Sustainable Mobility Alliance 2022, 99 invests in electrified and connected solutions to transform urban traffic

Imagine cities with less pollution, more connections between people and traffic that respects the environment. This future is already under construction – and 99 has been leading the movement since 2022, with the creation of the Sustainable Mobility Alliance, an initiative that brings together 23 companies from different sectors with a common goal: to accelerate the energy transition in urban transport.

At the start of the project, 300 BYD D1 units were delivered, as well as the creation of a financing line with interest rates up to 15% lower than those applied to combustion vehicles. Since then, the rental model has expanded: there are now more than 21,000 active drivers of electrified vehicles and now also includes electric motorcycles, of which there are now 3,000.

The Alliance has already invested more than R$400 million in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and new business models focused on sustainability.

The results are expressive.

Over 31 thousand tonnes of CO₂ were no longer emitted, thanks to the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles by 99 partner drivers. This is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of approximately 245 thousand trees.

But the Alliance goes beyond electrification. It promotes education, inclusion and innovation, with actions involving public authorities, start-ups, producers and energy companies. The idea is to create an ecosystem that makes all urban mobility cleaner, more accessible and more efficient.

For partner drivers, the benefits are real: fuel savings, driving comfort and even the possibility of generating controlled carbon credits, which can become a new source of income.

For passengers, the experience becomes quieter, safer and in line with sustainability values. In 2024, 99 launched its premium category of electrified cars, the 99eletric-Pro, in Sao Paulo, which has already arrived in Brasilia and Porto Alegre.

99 also invests in charging infrastructure, supporting strategic points in large urban centres. And with the growth of the electric fleet, believe me: the company already records double penetration compared to the national average.

As part of this investment, 99 has launched 99Recarga Elétrica, an app that unifies charging networks and offers discounts of up to 20% for partner drivers, making charging easier and more convenient in a single app. With the app all electric motorists can locate and check the availability of charging points in real time.

The future of cities depends on conscious choices and mobility is one of the most urgent. With the Sustainable Mobility Alliance, 99 proves that it is possible to connect people and protect the planet at the same time. Fewer emissions, more connections. This is the way.
