Rubro-Negro guarantees at least another 7 million dollars (R$ 39.7 million), which is the prize awarded to the second place winner
Flamengo’s qualification to the Libertadores final ensured at least another $7 million (R$39.7 million) to the coffers. After all, this is the amount awarded to the runner-up. However, if they win the title, the club will be able to pocket $24 million (R$136 million).
In this way, Rubro-Negro would financially consolidate a highly successful campaign in continental competition.
The team led by Filipe Luís secured their place in the decider this Wednesday (29), drawing 0-0 against Racing, in Avellaneda, Argentina. This is because Brazil won 1-0 at the Maracanã, with a goal from Carrascal, in the first match.
So far, with the sum of all stages of the continental tournament, Flamengo has already accumulated $9.24 million (R$52 million).
That is, $3 million (R$16.9 million) in the group stage; 3 bonuses of 330 thousand dollars (R$ 5.6 million) for victories; $1.25 million (R$7.1 million) in the round of 16; $1.7 million (R$9.6 million) across quarters; and $2.3 million (R$13 million) in the semifinals.
The Libertadores final will take place on November 29 (Saturday), at the Monumental Stadium, in Lima, Peru.
