Calm column: BMW starts pre-sales of the X3 30 xDrive M Sport

The new entry-level configuration of the BMW X3 with 258 HP 2.0 turbo engine, 48 V hybrid system and all-wheel drive is now in stores

Produced in the Spartanburg plant (USA), BMW expands the offering of its SUV range in Brazil. Instead of the inline six-cylinder engine there is a turbocharged four-cylinder with a basic hybrid (semi-hybrid) system, 48 V, which helps to save fuel.

The new version of the BMW X3 has 258 hp

The 2-liter engine produces 258 hp and 40.8 kgf·m, while the 3-liter turbo six-cylinder obviously changes levels with 404 hp and 59.1 kgf·m. The transmission is eight-speed automatic and adaptive 4×4 traction. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 s (with the most powerful engine 4.6 s).

The grille, in addition to maintaining its large size, has dynamic opening and closing, as well as an illuminated outline that stands out pleasantly at night. 20-inch wheels and taillights complete the balanced styling.

Inside there is a positive impact from a series of curved screens. The 12.3-in. It has a modern and configurable look. The multimedia center impresses with its size (14.9 inches) and includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The trunk space is very good: 570 litres.

During a journey lasting eight hours and approximately 550 km, from Sao Paulo to the German brand’s factory in Araquari (SC), the X3 30 xDrive M Sport demonstrated that even with the less powerful engine, overtaking can be done easily and safely. This is despite its curb mass of 1,894kg with a full 65-litre tank.
