The ONS forecasts a 0.9% increase in energy load in Brazil in November

Brazil’s electricity load is expected to increase by 0.9% in November in an annual comparison, reaching an average of 81,984 megawatts (MWm), according to projections released this Friday by the National Electricity System Operator (ONS).

In a bulletin, the agency also estimates that expected rainfall at the country’s hydroelectric facilities will be lower than the historical average in most subsystems, except the South, where it is expected to reach 105% of the November average. Natural energy is expected to flow at 71% of average in the Southeast/Central West, 40% in the Northeast, and 64% in the North.

According to ONS forecasts, the level of the country’s main hydroelectric basins, concentrated in the South East/Central West, is expected to reach 43.1% of capacity at the end of November, 1.1 percentage points below the level recorded on Friday.
