After artists were photographed wearing wedding rings, TMZ reported they are engaged
In a relationship since 2023, Dove Cameron and Damiano David appear to be engaged, according to a TMZ report. The photograph from the American news portal of the two walking together through Sydney, Australia, captured the protagonist of Descendants with a diamond ring on her ring finger.
The couple has not yet publicly confirmed their suspected engagement. In early October 2025, the singers celebrated two years of dating, with a passionate Instagram post from Cameron. “The best two years of my life,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it. I love you in a way that words could never express, but I will never stop trying.” Finally, he made a statement in his mother tongue Italian: “Good birthday [sic] love my.”

The two met for the first time at the 2022 VMAs, where they were both nominated for New Artist. Cameron won the award, and the Italian rock band Måneskin took the category of Best Alternative Video. They met again at the awards the following year, and, throughout 2023, they were seen at parties and events together. In September of the same year, Cameron attended band shows David in New York and São Paulo. They publicly confirmed their relationship in September 2024, when they posed on the red carpet at the gala preceding the Grammys.
Dove Cameron: former Disney star builds repertoire in alternative pop
The artist’s career began in 2012, when she was cast in the original series of Disney Channel Bits and Pieces. The series was discarded and remade in 2013, becoming Liv and Maddiein which Cameron plays the two protagonists, identical twins Liv and Maddie Rooney. The episodes aired until 2017, and the four seasons of the program were a success for the network.
His first musical experience was in 2013, when he released “On Top of the World”, cover of imagine Dragonswho performs in São Paulo this Friday, 31st, and Saturday (November 1st), as a promotional single by Disney. The version reached 17th place in billboard Kid Digital Songs, remaining on the charts for three weeks. In the same year, the Walt Disney Records released the original single “Better in Stereo”, theme song by Liv and Maddie. The song premiered on billboard Kid Digital Songs at number 21, and quickly reached number one on the charts.
In 2015, the actress starred in the film Descendants with Sophie Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart. In the plot, children of villains and good guys from fairy tales live and study in the kingdom of Auradon. Cameron interprets Evildaughter of the villain Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth). The character returns in the 2017 and 2019 sequels, and all of the films were popular among children and teenagers. The original songs present in the franchise remain popular to this day, with songs like “Rotten to the Core”, “Did I Mention”, “Ways to be Wicked” and “What’s My Name” being hits on the networks.
In the same year as the release of the first film Descendants, Cameron and her then-boyfriend (and recording partner in Liv and Maddie), Ryan McCartancreated a band called The Girl and the Dreamcatcher. The 10 songs released by the duo did well commercially, and earned a contract with Columbia Records to Dove after the end of the band.
In 2016, Cameron played an antagonist for the first time, taking on the role of Amber Von Tussle in the musical Hairspray Live!acting again as the daughter of Chenoweth. The musical presented a new facet of the actress’s musical ability, and definitively established her as a singer in the public’s view. The cast included big names in the industry, such as Ariana Grande, Harvey Fierstein, Maddie Baillio and Martin Short.
As a solo artist, she released her debut EP Alchemical: Volume 1 in December 2023. Alchemical was preceded by its lead single, “Boyfriend“, which he released the previous year. The song exploded on social media, and debuted at 16th position on the billboard Hot 100.
Cameron sparked criticism and controversy on the internet in 2024, when he canceled his show at Lollapalooza in São Paulo weeks before the festival. The explanation given by the singer through her social networks is that the show was “not ready” yet and she would have conflicting commitments on the date. On the day she was scheduled to perform in Interlagos, the artist was seen in Milan, accompanying David when recording a commercial.
The singer’s last release was in September 2025. The single “Whatever You Like” will be part of his debut album, with no title or release date confirmed yet. The song talks about his relationship with Davidand the visualizer uses videos of moments from his life and dating.
Damiano David and Italian rock
Born in Rome, the singer began his career as a teenager. In 2015, he began playing with the team that would become the rock band Måneskinwith your friends Victoria DeAngelis (bass), Ethan Torchio (drums) and Thomas Raggi (guitar). The group performed on the streets of the Italian capital, and officially created the band and the official name the following year.
The band became popular in 2017, when they participated in the Italian version of the reality show X Factor. They finished the program in 2nd place and released their first EP, Chosenwith the band’s biggest hit to date: a version of “Beginin’”, a song originally released in 1967 by the American group The Four Seasons.
Italians represented their country of origin at the 2021 edition of the European music festival Eurovisionleading Italy to victory for the first time in 31 years. The song “Zitti and Buoni” was not the most voted by the judges, but by becoming the public’s favorite they managed to win the award. Since then, they have scored hits and toured, but the band has been on hiatus since mid-2024.
David released his debut solo album in May 2025, and ventures into a more pop sound. Currently, he is on a world tour, and arrives in Brazil for a show at the Tokio Marine Hall, in São Paulo. Tickets for November 7th are already sold out.
