A 28-year-old bank employee was shot in the head during a clash in the North Zone of Rio; The app driver remains hospitalized following surgery
Family members of Barbara Elisa Yabeta Borges28 years old, are still trying to deal with the pain after the young woman died after being shot in the head during a shooting in Linha Amarela, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, last Friday (31/10). At the Centro Medico Legale (IML) of the Centre, this Saturday (1/11), the mother-in-law, Andrea Assisspoke to the newspaper Extra about his daughter-in-law: “She spoke so sweetly, she was a great girl. She intended to give me a grandchild.”
Andréia said Bárbara was recently promoted at the bank where she worked and celebrated every achievement. “I was super happy. He got his license, excited. Big plans for my son. My son arrived home loaded like a baby in arms yesterday. He’s on drugs.”she said, excited.
According to the mother-in-law, her son, Bárbara’s partner, was in São Paulo for work when he heard about the case through the news. “I work and I have GPS to monitor my children. I monitor him, Breno, who is the youngest, and Bárbara. I went to do some business downstairs and there was a lady watching a video of this trawl net. So I asked her: Is it now? Because you never know. She said: “It’s now, at this very moment.” When I went up, she called me, already upset: “Mom, run and see what’s happening Barbara'”, Remember.
She also said her son noticed something wrong while following his partner’s location. “He said: ‘He is giving her the position inside the Bonsucesso Hospital’. We only expected that she was ill, that she was injured (…) But the girl arrived practically dead”, reported.
On her Instagram profile Bárbara described herself with the phrase “sharing life”. The day before his death, he had shared a reflection by the writer Edgard Abbehusen on the value of human relationships: “Do you understand this? It is expensive to lose what is not on the shelf in the supermarket, nor in the window of a shop in the shopping mall. We spend so much time chasing what has a price, that we forget to take care of what has value… What has value, when it goes away, takes a piece of us with it.”
Crime
Bárbara was in the car using the app when she was caught in the crossfire, near Vila do Pinheiro, in the Complexo da Maré. The driver of the vehicle, who was hit in the jaw, was taken to the Bonsucesso Federal Hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains hospitalized in intensive care. Bárbara arrived in serious condition, but did not survive.
The Civil Police reported that they had carried out an inspection on the spot and had interviewed witnesses. The agents of the 21st DP (Bonsucesso) are carrying out investigations to identify those responsible and clarify the circumstances of the shooting.
