According to the process, which is accessed from CBS NewsDulcie’s daughter Megan said her mother drank too much alcohol trying to recoup the money she spent on the package, which offered unlimited drinks. “She was completely drunk in a way I had never seen before. It saddens me that this is my last memory of her,” Megan said.
The two were on a girls’ trip of sorts on the themed cruise. Also according to the lawsuit, cruise employees served seven drinks in approximately six hours.
The family also claims in the lawsuit that ship staff ignored signs that Dulcie was intoxicated. He would have difficulty speaking and standing. The elderly woman was reportedly helped to her cabin by another cruise passenger.
Once in the cabin, the daughter said she saw her mother on the balcony. “I wasn’t looking, and the next chance I had to look up, I saw her from behind. She was sitting on the edge, like she had climbed. She was sitting down and fell before I could reach her,” Megan reported.
According to the prosecution, the cruise ship did not return to try to rescue the woman. At the North American broadcaster, a representative of the Royal Caribbean Group said that the company does not comment on ongoing trials.
