A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Monday, August 22, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Burned Simon lies on his stomach, unconscious. Devastated Eric calls for help. After firefighters extinguished the fire, Simon was taken to the burn unit. The RCCI unit then investigates the fire that destroyed Simon’s farm. They are quick to dismiss the thesis of an accident and hypothesize that it could be a case of arson.

But this fire is very different from previous fires, criminals usually do not attack houses. Firefighters also did not find a shell or fuse at the crime scene. As they continue to investigate, multiple fires break out in the area at the same time.

Two days later, in the hospital, Eric is on edge. He does not know anything about the health condition of Simon, who has undergone two operations since Friday. Ariane joins him to learn the news. Eric is afraid of Simon. The policeman then decides to stay by her side to support her through this ordeal.

A few hours later, Dr. Riva finds Eric to inform him that Simon is stabilized. He lost a lot of blood and went into hypovolemic shock. He is now sedated with deep analgesia and his life prognosis is still on.

The skin can only be transplanted when Simon is out of the forest. Riva also informs Eric that her companion was badly injured in the liver because he took a bullet. The ex-policeman is in shock.

At the hotel, Mirta prays with the rosin offered by Father Luke. She asks God for forgiveness for the kiss she and the young man exchanged. He is interrupted in his dreams by Yolande, who laments that she hasn’t heard from her friend for several days. He wants to take Mirta to Mistral’s bar to tell her everything that is happening to her, but she declines the invitation. He must find his father Luke for his collection of clothes.

A young man with a bad conscience does everything to avoid being alone with Mirta. He is very far from sexigen. Affected by his change in attitude, he declines the boat trip offered by Bastien and Luna.

Vanessa and Romain meet at Marci’s. This is an opportunity for handsome Dr. Vidal to learn a little more about the young woman. Vanessa works in human resources and is placed on leave. The two young lovers plan to meet that evening for a romantic dinner at his house. In order to have the apartment completely, Romain makes sure that his two roommates can spend the night somewhere else.

Sylvia knows very well that Romain is not good at cooking. She decides on a whim to help him and abandons Barbara’s plan to go and prepare a small romantic dinner for the young man and his girlfriend.

When Vanessa arrives, Sylvia slips away to leave the two lovers alone. But when they finally think they’re alone, Emile and Etienne go to their roommate. They forgot to tell the young man that they were having a game night with all their friends.

So Emily and Etienne decide to spend a quiet evening with their roommate, much to Romain’s displeasure. Silvia in turn went back and joined the dinner.

After the meal, Sylvia, Emile and Etienne leave to leave Romain and Vanessa alone. The latter then explains to Vidal that she had a great evening but would rather go home. Romain offers to accompany him. But two lovers cannot leave each other and spend the night in a hotel.
