After hitting the US, this addictive series is finally coming to France

Last July we told you about The Hunting Woves, an American TV series adapted from author May Cobb’s sultry novel. Netflix actually bought the US broadcast rights only from Lionsgate and Starz, preventing its millions of other subscribers from benefiting from them.

Four months later, it finally arrived in France thanks to the Canal+ group, which offers this glamorous thriller on Polar+. The cast, some accustomed to supporting roles, follows the story of Sophie (Brittany Snow), a city girl who has just moved to a small Texas town where she meets the charismatic Margot Banks.

She quickly joins a club run by the latter, The Hunting Wives, where other wealthy wives do more than shoot guns for fun. Soon a young local girl is found dead in the forest where the brides meet.

“More scandalous, more exciting and more exciting”

The Hunting Wives caused quite a stir in the United States for its appearance “Addictive, sultry and charming” According to the American press. Its all-female cast — consisting of, among others, Malin Akerman (Billions), Chrissy Metz (This Is Us) and Katie Lowes (Scandal) — is one reason. This is one of those guilty series that we watch more for the story than the characters.

“Rebecca Cater is an absolutely brilliant screenwriter. She took the source material provided by Mae Cobb and made it more scandalous, more thrilling and exciting. The result is a brilliant detective series full of twists, traps, traps and diversions.” said one of the actors Dermot Mulroney.

Hunting with Wives Expect ole ole scenes (Brittany Snow also admitted preferred to shoot them with their female partners), strong and sexually emancipated women, as well as the subject of a cult of personality. This mix in any case pleased the American audience, so much so that the series has already been renewed for a second season.

The Hunt, two new episodes to discover tonight (20:55) on Polar+.
