Who are the main characters?

A newcomer to the city, the latter will have to establish himself in the local team, which is the first essential step in realizing his dream of winning the World Cup with the Japanese national team.
  • Thomas Price, nicknamed Genzo Wakabayashi in Japanese: Goalkeeper and captain of New Team, the latter seemingly an opponent of Olivier. But behind his arrogance lies a real talent. Because Thomas has the legendary record of never conceding a single goal with a shot from outside the penalty area!
  • Mark Landers, aka Kojiro Hyuga in Japanese: Olivier’s main rival throughout the series, this explosive striker is driven by a rage for victory like no other. A follower of an attacking game that focuses more on physical strength than technique, Marc fires cannonballs that usually leave opposing goalkeepers with no chance.

But he makes up for his technical flaws with an unwavering bravado that doesn’t shy away from using his body to block his opponents’ shots.
  • Twin Brothers Derrick, aka Tachibana in Japanese: The iconic characters of the series, these identical twins compete imaginatively to develop extraordinary techniques. Among their secret tricks is the catapult, which consists of launching one of the two players into the air using the sole power of their legs to perform an acrobatic kick!

An anecdote that will surprise your teenager!

  • Olivier is inspired by Japanese footballers Musashi Mizushima and Kazuyoshi Miura, who both play professionally in the Brazilian championship and wear the colors of legend Pele’s mythical club Santos.
