HBO Max has revealed the first teaser of “García!”, Which adapts the comics of Santiago García and Luis Bustos.
The satirical action thriller evokes the story of Captain America. The plot takes place in a dystopian version of today’s Spain, divided and on the verge of political chaos, where an investigative journalist (Veki Velilla, from “Yrreal”) uncovers a decades-old conspiracy: the existence of a superagent created in a laboratory in the 90s. 1950 by the fascist secret services of General Franco and cryogenically preserved. After 60 years frozen in a deep sleep, García (Francisco Ortiz, from “El Cid”), the super soldier with incredible physical strength and programmed to obey orders without asking questions, is woken up by the reporter and finds himself disoriented and confused in a Spain that has changed so much that it can no longer recognize it.
The series was developed by Sara Antuña (“Atrapada”) and Carlos de Pando (“The ministry of time”) and is directed by director Eugenio Mira (“Toque de Mestre”).
Produced by Zeta Studios, the first original production of HBO Max in Spain will debut in October.
