
The cast of “Maldives” has already received the notice that there will be the second and third seasons of the series on Netflix.
The platform has not yet made the official announcement, but, according to Patricia Kogut’s column in the newspaper O Globo, there are already plans to record the two new seasons together in 2023.
Written by Natália Klein and directed by José Alvarenga Jr., the series features Bruna Marquezine, Manu Gavassi, Sheron Menezes, Carol Castro and Natália herself.
Maldives is the name of the condominium where Liz (Bruna Marquezine) from Goiás infiltrates to uncover clues to her mother’s death, set on fire in her apartment. There, she meets exotic characters such as Milene (Manu Gavassi), the owner and queen of the Maldives, with a seemingly perfect body and life together with her husband, the plastic surgeon Victor Hugo (Klebber Toledo), and Rayssa (Sheron Menezz). . . ), a former axé dancer turned successful entrepreneur, married to the former lead singer of her band, Cauã (Samuel Melo).
There is also Kat (Carol Castro), a beautiful mom whose husband, Gustavo (Guilherme Winter), is under house arrest. The plot also features Verônica (Natalia Klein), a slightly gothic outsider who clashes with Maldivian women, Miguel (Danilo Mesquita), Liz’s country boyfriend, and detective Denilson (Enzo Romani).
To top it off, the role of the main character’s mother was played by Vanessa Gerbelli, mother of Bruna Marquezine when she was a child in the soap opera “Mulheres Apaixonadas”, in 2003.
