A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Tuesday, August 23, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Simon is taken to a sterile room, but he is still in a coma. Eric then explains to her that he arranged for the horses to be boarded at the farm. He tells Simon to hang up and promises to find the person who shot him. He tells her that he loves her before leaving the room.

Later, the ex-cop goes to the police station to search for information, but the computer password has been changed. He asks Ariane to give him a new one, but he refuses, Eric isn’t a cop anymore. The young woman who leads the investigation promises her friend that she will do everything she can to arrest Simon who shot her.

But he can’t bear to stay there, doing nothing. It requires a lab report as well as a ballistics report. Just then, Jean-Paul Boher intervenes and asks Eric into his office. He wants to know if Simon had an enemy. Eric gives him the name of his ex, Mark Rankin, and his neighbor, Roger Mallard, who blocks the water from the canal.

Returning to the farm, the firemen discover that the fire at Simon’s farm is of criminal origin. They did find traces of the fire: rags soaked in gasoline were thrown into the barn. That’s why Ariane takes the investigation.

Vanessa and Roman spent the night at the hotel. Early in the morning, a young woman offers Dr. Vidal to go on vacation for a week. Vanessa wants to take the novel to a small family cabin in nature. She tells him how important it is to her because no one has ever taken her there. Romain agrees, happily going with him.

At the office, Roman meets Silvia, who wants to know everything about the previous evening. He tells her that he feels good with Vanessa and that he doesn’t want to hide anything from her. That’s why he admits a little later that he has a degenerative disease. Vanessa is happy that Romain trusts her and then declares her love for him.

A few hours later, Sylvia surprises Vanessa by looking through the novel’s items. The young woman first claims to be looking for paracetamol and leaves in a hurry without telling Romain, leaving Sylvia somewhat bewildered.

Killian hasn’t heard from Lola and is starting to worry. He tries to approach his sister in vain and leaves a message. But a few seconds after hanging up, Lola calls him. He had to climb a rock to get the net.

Lola tries to calm her brother down. He is well and manages to support himself without any worries. But Killian wants Lola back because it’s getting hard to cover up. But the girl really doesn’t want to come home right away.

As she continues her hike, Lola comes face to face with a wolf. He gives water and immediately leaves. He feared for his life.

At Marci’s, Barbara comes to Emma to apologize for having an affair with Baptiste. He knows his mea culpa that their friendship has suffered. Emma turned away and did not hold against him. The young woman knows that Baptiste was suffocating and she had to find balance elsewhere.

Emma also confides in Barbara that Cesar’s death has made her realize a lot and that she wants to pick up the pieces with her husband. Barbara reassures the young woman, telling her that Justine is not coming close, and encourages her to fight.

Emma then arranges to meet Baptiste at the very place where he proposed to her. He wants to make up for lost time, convinced that they are made for each other. Emma tells Baptiste that she loves him and that he is the man of her life.
