Hannah Montana casting director reveals two other stars who have been considered for the role alongside Miley Cyrus, and one is a Nickelodeon veteran

Hanna Montana It ended over 11 years ago, and it’s hard to imagine anyone playing the titular student by day and pop star by night other than Miley Cyrus. Despite being the daughter of a country music star, Cyrus obviously had to audition and hope to do the best of her to beat the competition for her role. We now know who was in that competition, as the Disney show’s casting director revealed that the carefree singer was facing two other actresses for the role, with Nickelodeon star Daniella Monet and Gossip Girl Veterinarian Taylor Momsen is also in the running.

Lisa London, Hanna Montanathe casting director, took a TIC Tac in response to a video claiming that Hispanic-Mexican singer and actress Belinda was to be cast for the role of the pop star, saying she was in the top three in contention for the role. London’s sweet response thanked the fan for her video and said that while he loved Belinda, the singer was, in fact, not in the top three contenders. Instead, she showed the original test document “Chloe” (Miley Stewart’s original name), revealing that Miley Cyrus was up against Daniella Monet and Taylor Momsen:

It’s crazy to hear that Daniella Monet and Taylor Momsen also competed for the role of Hannah Montana, and I wonder how different the show would have been if one of them had been cast in place of Miley Cyrus. The casting decision was apparently made in 2005, which would have taken five years before Monet got her big break as Trina Vega on Nickelodeon. Victorious, and only two years before Momsen joined the others Gossip Girl cast members such as Jenny Humphrey in the CW drama. Of course, the father / daughter dynamic would have changed a lot without Cyrus in the lead role.

It’s funny that while Daniella Monet was auditioning to play a famous pop star for Disney, her character was Victorious he couldn’t carry a melody. While Cyrus has been open about how she struggled with fame after the show ended, she has already expressed interest in wearing the Hannah Montana wig in the future. She maybe she can meet Monet and Momsen as other versions of herself within the Montana Multiverse.

Meanwhile, Cyrus isn’t the only former Disney star interested in a potential reboot or revival. Jason Earles, who played Miley’s annoying older brother Jackson, spoke to Gossipify before the third season premiere of High School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesand shared your thoughts of Hanna Montana get the HSMTMTS treatment . He mentioned how much love there was still for the show and that “he’d probably be interested”.
