The ending of Minions 2 has been changed for Chinese theaters. We will explain why.
On July 6th, the Minions went back into the dark rooms, 7 years after their first solo adventure in the cinema. This second opus was a triumph, grossing $835 million worldwide. In France, the little yellow creatures gathered 3.3 million fans.
Presented by Illumination, this prequel to the Despicable Me saga was released in China on August 19. But if they were allowed to set foot on the land of the Middle Empire, the minions would have to make drastic concessions.
Indeed, the result of the film did not go well with the Chinese authorities, who decided to change it.

At the end of the feature film, villain Will Carnage, Gru’s mentor, slips through the fingers of the authorities after faking his death.
