Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah said they were shocked by the ban: “I went to the server … Everything is gone,” Fallah reported.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, responsible for the canceled “Batgirl” film, said they were banned from the studio from accessing material filmed during production.
“I went to the server … Everything went,” Fallah said, in an interview with French channel Skript. “We were like, ‘F * ck shit!’ All Batman scenes were on the server! ” added El Arbi.
The directors were in Morocco for El Arbi’s wedding when they learned of the cancellation of “Batgirl”.
“The Warner guys told us it wasn’t a talent issue on our part or the actress, and neither was the quality of the film,” El Arbi revealed. “They told us it was a strategic change. There was a new administration and they wanted to save some money.”
The studio justified the cancellation of the premiere following the merger of Warner and Discovery. The new management of the conglomerate has set a priority shift, radically opposite to the previous one in relation to the production of films for streaming. Now, if the films don’t have the structure to guarantee a good box office, they won’t be made or distributed so as not to burn franchises that could make it to theaters.
According to El Arbi, the feature film was not yet ready and it would not be possible to distribute it in its current state. “There are no visual effects … we still had some scenes to shoot. So if one day they want us to release the movie ‘Batgirl’, they’ll have to give us the means to do it. To finish it according to our vision.”
Fans have already started a social media campaign, using the hashtag #ReleaseBatgirl, to encourage the studio to release the film (as with “Justice League”). So far, Warner hasn’t given any indication that it would be willing to accommodate fan demand.
