Paramount + has released the first images of the biopic miniseries “Anderson Spider Silva”, which will tell the life of UFC champion Anderson Silva.
The fighter will be played by Caetano Vieira and Bruno Vinícius in his childhood and youth, when he learned to fight to survive on the outskirts of Curitiba. His adult version is played by William Nascimento (“Genesis”), who spent three months training in Rio de Janeiro’s fighting academies to face the height of one of the greatest MMA champions in the UFC.
Part of the series’ writers came from the Black Narratives project, which develops exclusive content for ViacomCBS, the proprietary conglomerate of Paramount +. Among them, Marton Olympio, Nathalia Cruz, Eliana Alves Cruz, Luiz Assis and Raul Perez.
Marton Olympio (“German 2”) is the lead screenwriter and Caito Ortiz (“Daddy is Pop”) is directing the production, which will also show the athlete’s personal life.
The cast also features Seu Jorge (“Marighella”) and Tatiana Tiburcio (“Malhação: Viva a Diferença”) as the uncles responsible for Anderson’s upbringing, as well as Douglas Silva (“City of Men”), Jean Paulo Campos (“Carrossel: O Filme”), Jeniffer Dias (“Rensga Hits!”), Larissa Nunes (“Coisa Mais Linda”), Milhem Cortaz (“O Lobo Behind the Door”) and Vaneza Oliveira (“3%”) .
There is no release date yet.
