Sincerely: How does it end?

Warning, spoilers. The following article describes the main plot of the series “Friendly You” and also its ending.

Remember the adventures of the Englishman Brett Sinclair (Roger Moore) and the American Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) with opposite personalities, who reluctantly united to bring justice to those who escaped justice.

Ambitious and brash, Yours in Friendly was an international success at the time, winning top awards in Australia and Spain, while Roger Moore and Tony Curtis were honored for their performances in Germany and France.

Its 24th and final episode, “A Tenacious Grudge,” aired on February 25, 1972. Fans of the show will unfortunately have to say goodbye to the charming series that combines action and comedy with always a strong response.

Someone is looking for Brett Sinclair and is doing everything to remind him of the dangers of the exciting world of motor racing. Attempted murder, violence and arson seem to be all acceptable means.

After investing a small fortune in the Formula 1 record-breaking Sinclair Special, Brett prepares to compete in the race and trains for the occasion, but his assassination attempts multiply.

First of all, we try to drive him around the circle with his own car, then scare him with death threats: a note was actually left in the car by the offender, who himself ran away. He bluntly declares that his life will end before Saturday, the day of the big race.

Later, while returning home, Brett is attacked by a strange man in a beige raincoat. He defends himself and in the middle of the fight his attacker calls for a truce: his attack was nothing personal, he was hired anonymously to hurt him – but not to kill him. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman follows Brett and Danny around town.

And finally the pièce de résistance: as the man leaves, Brett receives a strange package containing… a sinister cardboard coffin reserved for his miniature figure. A photo of her on top of the doll and flowers in her arms. Looks like this person desperately needs a Saturday race…without Brett!

In Sam, Brett and Danny finally find a leader and meet the one who rigged the race by buying Brett, a certain Vine (Maxwell Shaw)…that said, he’s just a minion himself. After a fight, the man lets them go, but one thing is clear: Brett will be in the race.

At home, Lord receives a call from the Rain Man. They made a deal: in exchange for money, he gets the employer’s address. But it’s a trap, and when he gets there, Brett finds an injured henchman who falls down the stairs to his death. This is where the mysterious woman who has been following him everywhere comes in, shocked.

We soon learn that her name is Carrie Bowman (Penelope Horner) and that she is a journalist. He has Brett tracked down by his editor, who has learned that someone is trying to rig Saturday’s race and wants an article about it. She tells him of her suspicions: Danny is the co-owner of the Sinclair Special, he was seen with another competitor that he bought… She has since suspected that he was the one trying to fix the race.

Clearly, he is wrong. The duo then leads the investigation, and it turns out: the photo makes Brett remember a racing accident a few years ago. Could Jenkins, the ex-racer who was badly burned after running off the road as Brett passed him on the circuit, be to blame?

Brett and Danny, now accompanied by Carrie, are still at the scene as they try to set Brett’s Formula 1 car on fire – a fire that the trio put out in time. Meanwhile, Danny leaves to interrogate Wayne and threatens him: after all, he’s taking him, or rather, the one who gives the order…

Louise Cornell (Lois Maxwell), the leader of the race-cleaning gang, is really trying to make a profit, explaining that she never tried to kill Brett: she just bribes people to lose. Danny tells him that his best man confessed everything in writing and he better run.

Back home with Carrie, Brett comes across another warning hanging on his door: a funeral wreath with the words “Tomorrow” written on it. Later, while Carrie is investigating where Jenkins lives, Brett and Danny receive a telegram from her giving their address. They go there immediately. However, when Carrie shows up at the apartment, she finds a note and regrets that she never sent it.

At Jenkins, Danny and Brett realize they’ve been tricked. Jenkins (John Kern) is there, disfigured and almost catatonic, and Brett tries to question him while Danny goes to investigate. Brett later discovers that his partner has been knocked out in the barn: the duo are locked in there.

There the culprit is revealed. He’s like two drops of water to Jenkins… but without the burns on his face: he’s her twin brother, and he wants revenge. He threatens them with a gun in hand and acid under his elbow. Brett and Danny then battle their opponent fiercely before finally winning.

It’s race day after all. Brett competes freely and…even wins a trophy! Everyone is celebrating their victory when a young woman in a yellow jumpsuit with the word “Joe” on it catches Danny’s eye. He questions him: Brett hired him as a mechanic. Danny then suspects that he didn’t know what he was doing: he’s right. He takes the young blonde by the hand and walks beside her. The end is respectfully yours.
