While “Top Gun: Maverick” is set to catch up with “Rain Man” to become Tom Cruise’s biggest hit in France, “Bullet Train” is retaking the lead at the weekly box office and crossing the 1 million release milestone.

Brad Pitt takes revenge! Dethroned One piece: red And her hot start last week, Bullet Train returns to first class and returns to the weekly box office. And it’s taking advantage of this third week run to cross the milestone of one million admissions in theaters.
The bar, which its lead actor reached for the twenty-third time in his career, still held the record for Seven and its 4,945,838 scratched tickets. For almost as many viewers who were forever marked by David Fincher’s thriller.
Top gun close to the record?
This milestone of a million landings, Tom Cruise exceeded it twenty-seven times thanks to him. Top Gun: Maverick. But unlike Bullet Train with Brad Pitt, the feature film is very close to breaking the record for its star in France. This week it is in fifth position and has almost zero losses (as Crypto and super animals where Minions 2) and is now not far off Rain Man’s 6,475,615, which could be surpassed at the start of the school year.
The leader last week, One Piece: Red falls hard, losing 2/3 of its records compared to its thunderous debut, which places it on the third step of the podium, behind The Minions 2, which managed to win two squares. A fairly common drop in anime, which can be explained mainly by the fact that fans rushed from the first days (or previews) and that word of mouth has very little influence on neophytes. Still, a million is currently not out of reach.

If Top Gun, Krypto or The Minions managed to gain places in the ratings, it is undoubtedly because they benefited from a fairly light offering in terms of novelty. Only two (the sequel and the prequel) manage to make the top 10: Old ovens 2 and Esther 2Which are far behind their predecessors, released in August 2018 and December 2009 respectively.
Finally, let’s celebrate the encouraging debut of sci-fi film Vesper Chronicles, which attracted 76,366 viewers during its first week and offered a good per-print average, higher than One Piece’s (256 vs. 227).
