Jennifer Connelly will continue in science fiction after the series finale “Snowpiercer”. She has signed up to star in “Dark Matter,” a multiverse story that will be released in nine chapters on the Apple TV + streaming platform.
The production is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Blake Crouch, the author of “Wayward Pines”, who is writing the screenplay for the new series.
The plot revolves around Jason Dessen, a physicist, professor and family man who, as he returns home to the streets of Chicago, is kidnapped by an alternate version of himself. When he tries to return to his life, he finds himself catapulted into a multiverse of alternate realities. Lost in a jaw-dropping maze, he does everything he can to find his true family and save them from the most terrifying and unbeatable enemy he can imagine: himself.
Dressen will be played by actor Joel Edgerton (“Thirteen Lives: The Rescue”) and Connelly will play his wife, Daniela.
The actress, who can currently be seen in theaters and on VOD in the blockbuster “Top Gun: Marverick”, is wrapping up her work on “Express of Tomorrow”, which will conclude with its next fourth season, scheduled for the first time. in 2023.
