Resident Evil Canceled by Netflix: Actor Reacts to News

After one and only season, Resident Evil is canceled. Overshadowed by the second part of Stranger Things season 4, the video game adaptation did not attract as many subscribers as expected.

After getting off to a pretty good start – totaling more than 70 million hours of viewing in its first weekend – the program continued to lose ground in the ratings for days. Three weeks after its release, Resident Evil has already left the top 10.

In his social networks, the main actor of the series, Lance Reddick, who especially explains the version of Albert Wesker, spoke:

I want to make this video because I wanted to say thank you. As you already know, our Resident Evil series on Netflix has been cancelled. Despite the haters and trolls, I want to give a special thanks to all the fans who watched the show, understood what we wanted to do and enjoyed it, because there are so many of you.”

After the performance, the actress will also welcome the team and her partners, such as Ella Balinska, Sienna Agudong, Paola Nunez, Tamara Smart and Adeline Rudolph. “We worked hard. We had fun and made one hell of a series.”

Recall that creator Andrew Dabb – also at the helm of Supernatural – hoped to extend Resident Evil Featuring over 10 seasons of major video game characters.

The episodes followed a two-part plot – one set in 2022, before the contamination, and the other in 2036, in a post-apocalyptic setting. The story focused on Jade Wesker, played by Ella Balinska, a heroine haunted by her past and the disappearance of her sister.

Resident Evil is available on Netflix.
